Image Description:
Photographer Peter R Arnold - Spitfire Historian. This Supermarine 509 Spitfire T9C was built in 1944 at Castle Bromwich and delivered to 33 MU, RAF Lyneham. Restored by Classic Aero Engineering at Thruxton, it was auctioned by Bonhams in 2009 and was bought by Steve Brooks for 1.58M GBP. SM520 is now registered to advertising agency Spitfire Display Ltd of London.
