Image Description:
The last space shuttle launch captured with the same photo technology as used to capture the first launch. The one and only slide film shot for this launch. The last slide of the one and only slide camera at the last space shuttle launch. I put a Minolta X-700:50mm lens & Fuji Velvia 50 (F/8@1/1000) on the pad. Secured to the ground with six 9 inch stakes and three 30 lb sandbags at each leg of the tripod. Camera was fired by the sound of the main engine start and shot all 36 frames with this being the last complete frame. Despite being a dull overcast day, the film captured a better dynamic range than digital hence resulting in richer color prints.
