- The Nieuport Triplane were designed with three wings staggered so that each formed an apex of a triangle. it was believed that this arrangement would eliminate the need for cross-bracing wires, increase stability, and improve lift. All three wings had very narrow chord and each had only a single spar. Nieuport Triplane used a 110 hp, Le Rhone 9J engine.
