- This is not Kingman, Marana, Mojave, Roswell, Victorville, but Miami. These DC-8s equipped with original JT3D-3B engines were all active when this photograph was taken in 2004. It was a priceless gift that Hurricane Jeanne gave photographer Jean.

The DC-8 is a medium to long range 4 engined airliner. It was the first jet powered airliner from Douglas, and the USA's second successful jet airliner after the Boeing 707. It was developed into many variants of differing ranges and capacities.
The DC-8-63 was the final new build variant and entered service in June 1968. It combined the aerodynamic refinements and increased fuel capacity of the -62 with the very long fuselage of the -61, and had a range with full payload of 4,110 nautical miles
