Aircraft Data
The DC-8 is a medium to long range 4 engined airliner. It was the first jet powered airliner from Douglas, and the USA's second successful jet airliner after the Boeing 707. It was developed into many variants of differing ranges and capacities.
The DC-8 Super 62 was intended for long range operations and featured only a modest 6ft 8in stretch compared to the Series 50, greater wing span, revised engine nacelles and pylons and significantly increased fuel capacity.
