Celebrating the ALSIB is an air route between Alaska (USA) and the former USSR. it was active from 1942 until 1945. It was used to ferry American warplanes, cargo from the USA to the USSR under the Lend-Lease program. The American part of the route began in Great Falls (Montana) and lasted till Fairbanks(Alaska) covering the distance of about 4800 km. The Soviet part of the route continued from Fairbanks to Krasnoyarsk and consisted of 6400 km. Russian people discover this aid only in 1992.
