- XB-70A 20001 was the first of two aircraft that were built (the other was 20270) and was known as AV-1 (Air Vehicle 1). It first flew on 21.9.64 and is seen here near Edwards AFB in company with the test facilities B-58A Hustler 55-0662. Retired on 4.2.69, the aircraft is now preserved at Wright-Patterson museum.
