Aircraft Data
With the cockpit, wings, tail and main undercarriage of the Boeing 377 and the nose gear from the Boeing 707 mated to a purpose built fuselage the aircraft was designed specifically for the transporting of out-sized loads.
Four Super Guppies were used by Airbus Industrie to transport aeroplane parts from various production facilities to the final assembly plant in Toulouse. Only one Super Guppy remains in service flown by NASA.
